Music, playlists and binary value representations
BlogOn 1 January of every year I create a new playlist on my iPod called ‘Good Songs’. I’ve had ‘Good Songs 2006, 2007 and now 2008′. I add only the best songs of the year to it as the year progresses.
In 2006 and 2007 the playlists closed with around 140 songs ish. This year it’ll be double that (I bought a lot more music this year).
But today was a great day. Because on the day my Mac came, I realised I’d reached the 255th song in ‘Good Songs 2008′. For those of you not quite as dominated by nerd blood as me, 255 is the largest value you can represent with an eight-digit binary number.
The song happens to be a track of Funeral For A Friend’s new album, and it’s called ‘Constant Illuminations’. It’s not very geeky.
UNTIL NOW!
